Wonderful food on the Levee...
Mrs. H. and I went out for dinner last nite at the Levee. Neither of us felt like cooking, so we went over to the Levee and tried a restaurant we have never been to before, Cafe Istanbul. I must say, we were pleasantly surprised with this Turkish restaurant. We both have heard it was a great place to eat, and we had been buy it many times on our way to Barnes & Nobles. We would peek in or read the outdoor menu and say "we should try that place sometime." Well, we are so glad that we did. It was quiet on a Monday nite. The atmosphere was terrific. The most important part though, was the food. I had the lamb shanks, and the meat just melted off the bone. She had the chicken kabab which had some of the most tender meat ive eaten. They both came with baked sliced zucchini in a tasty sauce. Mine also came with potatoes and a tomato on top. Definitely a high class meal for not too much. I know we will definitely have to make the Cafe a regular.
