And then there is the Purple House as Mrs. H and I like to call it. This was the first house that we really fell in love with at the beginning. I wish I had more pictures of it so you can see the inside. We looked at purchasing this house many times. It is very large inside and has so much charm about it. We wavered back and forth and finally decided that the house really just wasn't for us in the end. I think one of the major drawbacks is that it looked like Mardi Gras threw up in the house. There were sponged green walls, green doors, and a really hideous painted fireplace. The foyer was done in a really herendous purlple with gold sponge paint and the woodwork was painted the same. WHAT WERE THE OWNERS THINKING? How could someone do that to such a wonderful piece of history. Needless to say, the house needed more work than we could have afforded to put into it considering the price they were asking for it. Another drawback were the owners. The owners of the home weren't willing to negotiate and were determined to get their money out of it considering they had done nothing to it but screw it up. All in all, we love OUR home and feel fortunate to be in the situation that we are now.
