The White Death is Upon Us...

It snowed. Here. In Cincinnati. The first snowfall here in Cincinnati usually brings panic and some slight hysteria. We were due for 1-3" here in the Tri-State. This calls for news stations to do stories on how grocery stores are stocking up on bread, water, milk and other essentials. It's usually the talk of the day at work. Salt was put down at 2pm here at my work yesterday. A good 16 hours before the snow. The salt was already melted before I left work for the nite. I don't understand the White Death mindset. I dont understand how a large metropolitan area like Cincinnati can not handle 4-6" of snow. I dont understand the panic. I guess though moving from Cleveland where we had 120" the winter before we moved will do that to a person. So I laugh in the face of the White Death. HA...and DOUBLE HA. I won't let it get to me this winter.

Here are a few shots from where i work. You cant tell in the pictures, but the wind is BLISTERING. OUCH.

My parents experienced the same thing moving from Wisconsin to Tennessee- it's like the the world stops turning when a dusting blows through...meanwhile up here we get 3 ft of snow and everything keeps humming along!

Is that small 5-drawer cabinet on the side of the stove by the doorway original to the house, did you build it, or did you buy it somewhere? Saw it in your January post -- I really like that cabinet!
