Well, we are back to work on the house after much delay. We have done some odd and end projects, but nothing major as of now. Here we are though with the floors. The floors in the house are the original hardwood floors. They were never taken care of and were all painted and primed. NEVER...EVER...PAINT HARDWOOD floors. ESPECIALLY when they are as nice as what we have. I couldnt believe how beautiful this turned out. Ive never refinished a floor before, so this small 3rd floor bedroom was a test. I must say im jazzed about getting the whole second floor done in our house. Here are a few pics of my recent work...
With this project, i just sanded and then coated with polyurethaned. We felt that the natural wood itself was beautiful and we didnt want to taint it with stain. I put on two coats of polyurethane instead of three because this room gets used very little.
I do know that I have before pictures of the room when we first bought the house. I will have to find those and post them here. Im really amazed at the transformation that a room can take after a little money and some work. Only 4 rooms to go...
